Each year Troop 112 must recharter with the Boy Scouts of America. Our recharter dues support our council as well as provide insurance for adult volunteers and the boys during meetings and trips. Dues will be $83 for Family plus one Scout and $43 for an additional Scout.
ZipLine at Belk Scout Camp
The February 10th-12th trip has been planned! The Scouts will camp in the Adirondack’s at Belk Scout Camp and zip line on Saturday. The cost of the trip is $50. Please make sure to fill out the consent form and bring it to the church upon arrival. Logistical details will be provided closer to the day of the trip by the Scout Leaders.
Summer Camp Deposit

Ski Trip to NC Mountains
The Jan Scout trip is to travel to the NC Mountains and Night Ski on Friday, January 13, spend the night and ski Saturday, January 14. Cost is $150 per Scout.
Cold Weather Camping
The next trip is December 9-11 to backpack at Wilson Creek. Scouts will complete an approximate 2 mile hike and participate in cold weather camping.The cost for the trip will be $65 per Scout.
Service Hours & Whitewater Center
Our monthly trip has been planned for November 11-12th. We are excited to support the Charlotte Marathon again by volunteering and fundraising. We need at least 40 volunteers (parents, siblings, grandparents, any family members or friends available). All scouts have the opportunity to earn 4 service hours for their participation. Volunteers, please provide Ms. Scardace your number of volunteers and the shirt size for each volunteer to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 704-488-6140. Scouts attending the lock-in to volunteer will have their dinner and breakfast paid for by the troop. If you are just participating in the lock-in/service project the troop will cover the expense of this trip. Scouts participating in the Whitewater Center portion of the trip, your cost will be $90 (including the Whitewater Center Activity Pass).
Signing up for this trip will be in two parts. Please sign up for both activities if attending both.

Highland Games at Camp Grimes
Are you ready for the Highland Games? We will gather our “clan” on the fields of Camp Grimes to compete in games both ancient and new. You will have the chance to help the troop show off your skills at fire starting, camp setup, athletics, leadership, and teamwork. Join us at the Fall Apache District Camporee at Camp Grimes on October 21-23. The deadline to register is September 26th. Any scouts registering after this date could possibly not receive the patches and other items from the Camporee. The cost is $55 per camper.
Camping at Dan Nicholas Park – Sept 9-11
Scouts will leave the church at 5:00 pm and head to Millers Pond (a Boy Scout camp) at Dan Nicholas Park in Salisbury, NC. On Saturday, there will be many activities to choose from. Each boy will receive a Blue Ticket which includes: 1 Train Ride, 1 Carousel Ride, 1 Miniature Golf Game (Put-Put), 1 Standard Bucket of Gems. Admission to the Aquarium, Nature Center and Park. You can also bring other equipment (tennis rackets, softballs, bats, and other sports equipment). Scouts will return to the church Sunday morning around 11:00 a.m. Cost is $60 per Scout. Scouts may want some extra spending money for additional activities.
Caving in Linville Falls
We have planned a awesome trip to Linville Falls to go caving. The boys will leave on Friday after school and return on Sunday afternoon. The guided cave tour is from about 10am-3pm on Saturday and is put on by River and Earth Adventures. There are 7 miles of rooms and passages to explore. All equipment is included and there is no age restriction. Go to raftcavehike.com and look at the caving info-its pretty cool!! Cost is $108. Mountain Biking Trip to Lake Powhatan
The next trip is to camp at the Lake Powhatan campsite, spend time at the Kolo Bike Park and spend the rest of the time mountain biking on the trails near the campsite. Check out the www.kolobikepark.com website and you can see some videos of the trails. Anyone who knows how to ride a bike will be able to handle these trails.
You can bring you own bike or rent. Rental fee is an additional $40. If you want to use Camp Card money, please let Mr. Stuart know.
Because of the nature of the trip, we are going to need 4 adults to attend. Please let Mr. Tucker know if you can attend to help the leaders.
