Mountain Man Games
The next trip is October 23-25 at Camp Grimes. It is the Mountain Man Games Camporee. Our troop will be competing against other troops as our skills are tested in the areas of hunting for food (using a bow), lashing skills, 3 legged climb up the climbing wall, crosscut sawing, building a fire and making pancakes from scratch along with several other competitions. Please sign up as soon as possible as the cutoff date for payment to Camp Grimes is October 8th. The cost is $55 and includes all food, gas and camporee fee.
Knife and Sheath Making Trip
On Sept 18-20 we have a Knife and Sheath making weekend at Mr. Paul Bradley’s mom’s house. They will be camping outside on Friday and Saturday nights and cooking over a fire. The trip price is $40 and includes food and the knife making kit. The boys are welcome to come and go over the course of the weekend if they have other commitments but would still like to attend part of the trip.
Paul is asking that the scouts carpool and get themselves to and from the house on their own. Arrival time would be any time after 5pm on Friday. Please remember to bring your signed Release Form and any medicine instructions. Pickup time is 1pm on Sunday sharp at the house. There is running water and bathrooms available at the house. Grayson Highlands Trip
On May 1st-3rd the Troop will backpack and hike at Grayson Highlands State Park in Mouth of Wilson, VA. This park is near Mount Rogers and Whitetop Mountain, Virginia’s two highest mountains. Cost is $80
April Lock In
Meet at the Scout Hut at 5:30 ready to go. Shuttles are reserved to take the boys to Sports Connection in Ballantyne. The boys will bowl and play arcade games. They will also eat there. They will return to the church and spend the rest of the time playing pool, air hockey, playing video games and watching movies. Pickup will be the next morning at 10am. The cost is $22 **Dinner is not included in the price. Have your son bring money so that they can order off the menu at Sports Connection**
Blue Hole Super Trip
Troop 112 – We have confirmed our reservation for the “Supertrip” / Blue Hole camp. As the older scouts will attest, this is a great time with lots of activities.
Dates: Tuesday, July 21 (depart in morning, arrive in afternoon) – Sunday, July 26 (depart in morning, arrive in afternoon)
Duration: 6-day, 5-night
Food: Provided by the camp
Cost: $360 per scout or adult Pay thru PayPal in April and two more payments will automatically be billed in May and June.
Location: In the Cherokee National Forest located at the intersection of the NC, TN and GA borders (approximately 4.5 hours away).

Belk Scout Camp – Webelos Crossing Over
The theme for our March 27-29 Outing is “Webelos II Crossover Ceremony” and will be held at Belk Scout Camp. There are many activities planned throughout the weekend with our Pack 112 Webelos IIs to include Scouting skills (Totin’ Chip, knots/lashings, & camping/backpacking), Belk Climbing Tower (climbing/rappelling/zip lining), and Crossover Ceremony. Don’t miss out on this special opportunity for Scouting fellowship with our Webelos IIs and earning rank requirement/Scouting skills signoffs. Cost is $60.

Crowders February Backpacking Trip
Test your hiking, camping on backpacking skills on Crowders Mountain’s challenging trails. February 13,14, and 15. We will depart around 5:00 Friday and return Sunday afternoon. Cost for this trip will be $45 per scout. Please sign up and pay by Sunday February 8th at 6PM.
2015 Recharter Fees
January 2015 Ski Trip
The Mecklenburg Boy Scouts have put together a package deal at Winterplace Ski Resort for all Boy Scouts and their families for Monday, January 19th. So, the boys have planned a trip around the “deal”. They will leave on Sunday, January 18 and head up Winterplace,WV. In years past, they have stayed at Westminister Presbyterian church (hopefully this will happen again) on Sunday night and gotten up early on Monday to ski all day. The boys will return MOnday night.
The trip includes the following: transportation to/from Charlotte to Winterplace
a place to sleep on Sunday night
dinner Sunday night, breakfast Monday morning and dinner Monday night
The Boy Scout Ski package (all day ski pass, rental of skis, boots, poles and helmet, group lesson, meal voucher for lunch on the slopes)
The price for the trip is $110 for all scouts. If additional family members want to participate, it will be $60 per person. Family members will have to provide their own lodging, travel and meals (except for the meal voucher for lunch on Saturday).
The deadline for signing up will be January 9th as I have to get a check to the council by then. After that date, those interested will have to contact the council directly and pay an additional $10.
Once I have paid, the fees are nonrefundable (as per the BS refund policy).
I will let you know once I have confirmed the lodging. If the church is not available, the trip price may increase.
